Our Story

Community Counseling Center (C3) was founded to increase access to mental health services for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities (ID/DD), people with acquired brain injury (ABI), moving forward plan (MFP) waiver participants, and the community as a whole. We serve clients in a private practice setting to improve their mental well-being. We seek to provide a more holistic, multidisciplinary approach to psychiatric treatment and care to enhance health outcomes of our clients. We work in collaboration with other providers, caregivers, families, provider agencies, service coordinators, and guardians. We also offer limited psychotherapy services. C3 principles of care are based on evidence-based practice that focuses on treating the client as a whole.

Victor Boadu, DNP, PMHNP-BC saw the need for a private practice during his time as a direct care staff in a group home, day program health care supervisor, adult family care nurse and a program director, serving adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Drawing on these experiences, he decided to set up a private practice that has a small clinic feel to provide options for clients who prefer a small clinic setting. Our overall comprehensive community care approach also includes an innovative population health component, to enhance communication, collaboration, patient engagement and their support systems to improve healthcare outcomes.

C3 treats each client with dignity, respect, and engages in open, honest communications to empower and ensure the best treatment option. We are interested in our clients’ long-term well-being and for this reason, the care team strive to be accessible, available, and provide non-emergency support and care to enhance each client’s quality of life while promoting meaningful community living and shared life experiences.
